Course Overview

This course is designed to increase awareness of the risks of working at height, using access, ladders, or platform equipment.

Course Objectives

The course is a mix of theory and practical sessions during which delegates will learn and be required to demonstrate to their level of competence in all aspects of preparing for and working at height. By the end of the course, the delegates will be able to:

  • State what is meant by working at height and what legal requirements must be observed when carrying out such work
  •  State the legal duties placed on individuals regarding working at height and of those who control such work
  •  Understand the legal requirements relating to the use of access platforms, ladders and scaffolding, and scaffold towers
  • State the three fundamentals of reducing risk from working at height
  • Carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks when working at height

Delegate Pre-requisites

Candidates must be fit and able to complete all aspects of training. This course is physically demanding and candidates will be required to complete a medical declaration prior to course commencement besides being in possession of a current offshore medical certificate.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Participants must demonstrate the ability to read and write English
  • Participants are required to submit a valid form of identification. The following are acceptable forms of identification accepted.
    • National Identification Card
    • International Passport
    • Nigerian Armed Forces identification card
    • A photo Identification card issued in Nigeria by the Federal State, or Local Government, Ministries
    • Departments and Agencies
    • Driver’s License with a photo of the driver issued by FRSC
