Course Overview

This course is designed to prepare delegates that intend to travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter in a tropical environment by providing specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and to equip delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency – with specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching and sea survival techniques.

Course Objectives

The course involves theoretical and practical training, with demonstrations where necessary. The objectives of the T-HUET Training are that delegates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate in a simulated environment that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching
  • Demonstrate sea survival techniques

Delegate Pre-requisites

Candidates must be fit and able to complete all aspects of training. This course is physically demanding and candidates will be required to complete a medical declaration prior to course commencement besides being in possession of a current offshore medical certificate.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Participants must demonstrate the ability to read and write English
  • Participants are required to submit a valid form of identification. The following are acceptable forms of identification accepted.
    • National Identification Card
    • International Passport
    • Nigerian Armed Forces identification card
    • A photo Identification card issued in Nigeria by the Federal State, or Local Government, Ministries
    • Departments and Agencies
    • Driver’s License with a photo of the driver issued by FRSC

Additional Course Information

100% class attendance and full participation in all practical exercises are required for the issuance of the certificate
