Course Description

Offshore Emergency Response Team Member training is a comprehensive programme designed to meet the initial onshore training and assessment requirements for the Offshore Emergency Response Team Member, as identified in the DPR/NIMASA guidelines for Competence and Training in Emergency Response.

The course consists of theoretical input and practical exercises developed to measure competence relating to the key learning outcomes of the DPR/NIMASA standards for Offshore Emergency Response Team Member initial training requirements. This enables delegates to join offshore Emergency Response Teams for further installation-specific training and development.

Successful completion enables delegates to join offshore Emergency Response Teams for further installation-specific training and development.



Aims and Objectives

The course consists of theoretical input and practical exercises developed to measure competence relating to the key learning outcomes of the DPR/NIMASA standards for Offshore Emergency Response Team Member initial training requirements.

The programme aims to:

Prerequisite Requirements

Delegates must have previously attended Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) or Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET), or a suitable alternative programme.

Offshore Medical Certificate

Delegates must be in possession of a current offshore medical certificate.

Physical Fitness

Delegates must be physically fit and able to participate in practical emergency response exercises.

Valid ID

Valid government-issued identification for certification purposes.



Recertification

Offshore Emergency Response Team Member certification is valid for 4 years. To maintain certification:

  • Complete Recertification – Take the refresher course before your current certification expires.
  • Full Recertification – Complete the full 3-day course for comprehensive retraining.
  • Installation-Specific Training – Additional training may be required based on specific installation requirements.
