TFOET – Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training is the industry-standard refresher certification for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry in tropical environments. This OPITO-approved TFOET training provides learners with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practice during drills, exercises and emergency offshore training in tropical conditions.

Our OPITO-approved TFOET training covers critical safety topics including helicopter safety, sea survival, fire fighting, and emergency first aid specifically adapted for tropical environments.

Product Aims

The TFOET programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry in tropical environments. Learners have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills in tropical conditions.

The product aims to:

Product Objectives

The objectives of the TFOET are that learners will be able to:

• Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching in tropical waters.
• Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke filled areas.
• Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid in tropical conditions.
• Demonstrate sea survival techniques including life raft boarding and emergency signaling in tropical waters.
• Use the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) during helicopter escape in tropical conditions.
• Work effectively as part of a team during offshore emergencies in tropical environments.
